How to Drill In and Out of a Graph

Drilling allows you to view data at levels other than those that appear in the graph. You can drill down, up, or across attributes and some metrics.

Note: If your graph displays categories, you can drill from a specific category to that category's subcategories. If you drill down from the Electronics category, only the subcategories within Electronics, such as Audio Equipment and Cameras appear.

You can drill each type of graph as follows:

To drill on an element in a graph

  1. Select a graph visualization.
  2. Click a graph element to select it. Press and hold the Ctrl key to select multiple graph elements.
    or
Drag over an area of the graph to select items with a rectangular lasso.
  3. Right-click the graph elements, choose Drill and the attribute to which you want to drill. Only the graph elements you select appear. The drill-to attribute you select groups the graph elements.
